Tucked abroad among Armenian Street'due south conservation terrace houses is the atelier of homegrown jewellery make State Belongings.

The business was founded by industrial designer Afzal Imram and jewellery designer Lin Ruiyin. Sweethearts since their academy days, the married couple had met through common friends and discovered a shared passion for art and design.

"Since young, I've e'er been interested in art and design. Equally I grew up, I wanted to make sure that my little pieces of art were things that I could bring along with me wherever I went," shared Lin, who graduated from the renowned arts and design college Key Saint Martins in London.

Imram said that given his background in production design and Lin's in gimmicky jewellery, starting bespoke jewellery service Country Property was a natural progression.

Fresh out of school with no experience, the couple learnt on the task. Lin said, "Nosotros were not certain about the industry, so the fastest and the best way to showtime was to just take on clients and to see what the demands were for the industry."

Information technology wasn't long before they started creating their own collections and their pieces caught the attention of and were worn past celebrities such every bit Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama and Nicole Kidman.

Initially, they wanted to work with overseas craftsmen, but were eventually won over by the experience and dedication of local artisans. The couple is oftentimes inspired by their travels to create collections that straddle the realms of art and science.
